Colin's 4th Monthiversary

So Colin James just turned 4 months old recently. We went to the doctor and he told us that Colin's development is going wonderfully. He should only be 2 1/2 months old right now since he was born 6 weeks early. But he is almost as developed as a normal 4 month old baby. He is 25 inches long which is average for 4 months, he weighs 14 lbs (27 percentile for his age), and his head is in the 75 percentile (not a big surprise). He is smiling and laughing a lot, he sleeps through the night already (yay!) and he always smiles when he wakes up. Such a happy healthy boy. He sure has come a long way.

Here he is in the hospital. So many tubes and IV's. Poor little guy. He spent 4 weeks in the hospital.

After we got home. He looks so much like mommy.

Let's face it. He is definately his daddy's boy.

So that's our little angel. He is getting so big, too fast. Where does the time go? We sure are lucky to have him and we coudn't be happier.

The walk to cure the diabetically oppressed, or the Walk to Cure Diabetes.2008

Thank you to everyone that came and supported us this year! We had fun, but there is always work to be done so help us raise funds so that Amy's lifestyle can be better. see you all next year!

Here are the McCallister boys. So handsome. The McCallister's store Tai Pan is a big sponser every year.

This is the macarena baby. The only way I know how. Sexy.

We thought that this was a little bit effective. We had Colin 6 weeks premature due to complications that the doctors have linked to diabetes. So Colin posing with this sign(which was originally a joke) had some significance.

This one softens it up a bit.

Kyle and Michelle Stoddard our dear friends came with their son Brayden who is 1 yeart old. This was their first year. Sam and Kat Nelson, who are siblings on either side of Ben's Mullet. They may have been twice now. We have the best friends in the world.

Bruce and Jed setting a fever pace. Jed recently ran a 100 mile race in just over a day. So this walk was a breeze for him. Bruce handled it almost as well.

This clown(he is a juggler) was juggling and or dropping pins and balls, and when I asked if Colin and I could get a picture he was truly flattered. Good luck future Elder!

Here are the Melendai. Terry Melendez was a main sponser of the walk, donating $10,000 dollars. Wow. Their team was called the Ally Gators. Ally(gator costume) was diagnosed with type one diabetes 5 months ago.

This isn't real. Yet.

This was a desperate attempt at killing time.

Kyle was excited to be there.

So were Annie and Ben's Mom

Finally some one with a good attitude! Thank you Sam!

Ben's Mom was only interested in it doubling as exercise. People thought that she stole a baby.

Here is the team group picture, minus adam cheri and reesa. For name's see amy.

Again it is hard to believe how cute a little blob of baby can be.

Where is your grandma?!

This is Amy, by the way. I have a story to tell too. Today I was cleaning a room in the hotel and there was one room that I couldn't even believe that someone expected anybody to clean up after them. It was so dirty. The funny thing is that even though I had to clean up after these slobs (who leave chicken wings on the nightstand) the room that bothered me the most was a room that had a sink with loose hairs in it. The first thought that entered my head was "Where is your grandma?" I know weird, let me explain. When I was a little girl staying at my grandma's house I used to leave loose hairs in the sink after brushing my hair. One day after doing this my grandma pulled me into the bathroom and told me to pay attention. She took a few pieces of toilet paper, wet it a little, and wiped all the hair out of the sink. She told me that my mom isn't always there to clean up after me and I shouldn't clog up the drain. From that day forward I have always kept the sink free of hair, which is the way it should be. So my question is this . . . Obviously you have not had this lesson if you leave loose hair in the sink, and if that's the case . . . Where is your grandma?
Thanks Grandma, Love you.

So what do you think?

So Vernal. We have been living in a fleetwood bounder motorhome for the last few months and I gotta say,"We use all 34 ft" It really is a nightmare. We are hoping to move into a house this fall, we shall see how that pans out.
So I was at the local Taco Bell the other day, and The girl in the drive thru called me hon. "Just a sec hon" and " there you go hon" Needless to say it infuriated me. I was so upset about it I promptly called my brother Hal. I explained to him how I felt it was very condescending of a fourteen year old girl working in the drive thru to call someone, who is obviously older than her hon. I would have even had a hard time with it if we were the same age. But more than the word hon was the tone used while saying it. She said it the way you would expect a desperate spinster would say it to a kid in a candy store. Well while I was on the phone with Hal, he was very sympathetic. I called him the next day to complain some more while I was waiting to order in the drive thru at KFC. ( I eat a lot of fast food out here) And as I brought up the instance from the day before, guess who is at the window? The same girl that was at the Taco Bell the night before. As I sat there in shock I realized that this was my opportunity to bring this girl to justice. I had the face to face that I had been craving, an opportunity to tell this girl exactly how it made me feel when she had treated me with such disrespect, and with Hal on the phone to boot. But before I could utter a word, she handed out a 12 peice legs andf thigh meal and said," Anything else I can get you hon " well, I was so furious I couldn't make a noise for the risk of actually murdering her on the spot. But I did have a chance to renew my rant with my kind and patient brother. THat is Vernal for ya. Literally two resterants two consecutive days two consecutive meals. Same drive thru employee. I miss Salt Lake and the anonimitity.
We often get in fist fights that last for up to five hours. Colin always manages to win.

So this is a picture of Colin and his coz Emma. They sure are cute.

The bold and the beautiful

What other topic is there? Colin part three. Plus the pregnancy!

Here he is. This kid is full of this stuff. He loves to stick out his tongue, but it is extremely hard to catch him with our camera. So those of you who have instant shutters, be thankful. I can't believe how funny he his becoming. We just came back to Vernal after our second trip to Highland in less than seven days, so Amy, Colin and myself(Ben) were able to visit his brand new cousin Emma Lin Wirig. So he has a little more local competition. But it was fun to see the new addition to the family.

Here is a great picture from when Amy was in the hospital. She was in preterm labor at 30 weeks until Colin was born at 34 weeks. She spent 18 days in the hospital as well as nine at her parets house on bed rest. Here I am comforting her on the third day.

This is two hours before Colin was born. I gave her an ultimatum.

On our many trips to and from the Uintah and Utah counties, we often encounter some breathtaking sights. This was on a trip made in mid-August, and as you can see there was a forest fire raging in Provo canyon. Scary!

Here is Colin with that tongue again. He is definately Amy's son!.

Well, one last cute little picture of our guy. Hope everyone reading is doing well, and we love and miss you all!
